however, our reality is made up of time, and our existence needs dreams to reach for a passionate the future. the past, will always linger, triggered by memory. memory belongs to each individual in a society, the personal interactions and experiences of an individual might parallel another stranger’s experiences in society. irony plays an important role in this case, where the past (memory) is sleeping, and the excitement lies within our ignorance for when or where it will wake up.
portraying this situation in an organic imagery form, one would notice how it is inevitably similar with the method of growth. just like putting a seed in soil and from there on, the dependence of nature takes a vital role in this seed; from flower to seed, from seed, to soil, and to tendril and again from thereon.
i believe that plants are special elements in our universe, not similar to humans/animals; i look at it as if they have a completely different and mysterious creator, because of their never-answered secrets about their existence.
my memories of one of my first long journeys were between isparta and kutahya. i still remember the trees, the crop fields, the steppes which passed trough from the train’s window and cherish it as the most inspiring image of my life.
when i speak of my childhood memories to my relatives, they accuse me of making up memories that didn’t exist. therefore, i came to think that most of my paintings also have been built up on my basis of false childhood memories. i believe the creation of stories and narratives which i come to think of as memories that really existed came by as an expression for the need of knowledge, passion, and experience.
therefore, the paintings are elements of “created” memory towards volume, brightness/darkness, fragility, and the presentation of space to express the confusion of choosing the “right” time. a painting created or “made-up” of memories through a divine expression of distillation and filtering.
the paintings symbolize my attempt to express every contradiction in my mind, and transform its realism and simplicity as much as possible. taking the image from the natural climate atmosphere and present it in an expressive painting climate. that is to say, to liberate it and make it free. this sums up the principles and reasoning dedicated to my paintings.
